Startup Niagara’s leader, JF Amprinoz, talked with the Welland Tribune’s Don Welland about launching one of our newest Startup Canada Communities:
Niagara has a new group devoted to boosting the region’s entrepreneurial culture.
Startup Niagara officially kicked off at a Jan. 29 “Startup Drinks” launch at Mahtay Cafe in downtown St. Catharines.
It’s part of the Startup Canada Communities program, which brings together diverse entrepreneurs and small business owners to foster and support entrepreneurship.
Across Canada, Startup represents more than 55,000 entrepreneurs in more than 400 partner organizations.
About 40 people are already associated with the group.
JF Amprimoz, a local Internet marketing consultant and a group organizer, said the concept is based on “activities, attitudes and philosophies (in) a community to encourage entrepreneurship and start-ups.”
