FUELEDMINDS: the idea incubator launches coworking space for knowledge workers
When Tom Madej was a teenager, he envisioned a workspace where creative types could come together and share ideas and collaborate on projects.
Years later, he is seeing his dream become a reality with the launch of FueledMinds: the idea incubator in downtown St Catharines, an organization he founded.
“I’ve been working with a company in Silicon Valley for the past several months and many of the ideas for FueledMinds were inspired by my experiences there. You could say that we’re importing the startup culture from Silicon Valley,” said Madej.
Madej is currently the Chief Software Architect for IIX, a Niagara company headquartered in Silicon Valley. He has immersed himself in the culture of the world’s technology innovation hotspot for the past several months, splitting his time between Niagara and California as IIX pursues venture capital funding.
FueledMinds follows a Silicon Valley model offering “hot desks” for rent on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Hot desks are non-dedicated workstations that act as an affordable and accessible way for knowledge workers and budding entrepreneurs to escape their homes.
